About Wayne Pallets

Wayne Pallets, Inc. was founded in 1951 by Roy Wayne. Wayne Pallets was originally named Durand Woodworking and was located in Durand, Wisconsin. In the winter of 1968 Roy started construction on a new facility. Soon after completion he moved his large family and woodworking company to Downsville, Wisconsin. There he renamed the company Wayne Pallets, Inc.

For much of the company’s life there have been multiple family members working at Wayne Pallets. Roy Wayne is now retired and his eldest son, Larry Wayne, who was the president of the company for over 10 years, is now the owner. Larry has been hands on since a young age, building pallets, fixing machines and filling in where he was needed. Larry still divides his time between the shop floor and the office, because of this he definitely knows the ins and outs of the industry! Larry’s daughter, Lindsay Little, was very active with the company from 1992, and even up until a few years ago would help out in the office with what needed to be done. Larry’s youngest son Tony Wayne had also been employed at Wayne Pallets, Inc off and on since 2001, helping with the safety aspect of the business. More recently Larry’s daughter-in-law Mary Wayne has been helping with office work and keeping the shop looking its best. Wayne Pallets, Inc. is truly family owned and operated!

The current facility employs around 20 people. These employees run the automated, and constantly growing sawmill division, along with all the automated equipment in the pallet shop.

Recently Wayne Pallets, Inc. has done some remodeling in the sawmill portion to create a better workflow to cut down on costs. The addition of a Scragg mill means that Wayne Pallets can cut logs into cants for pallet making, thus bringing down the outside cost of buying material which can then be passed onto our customers.

Wayne Pallets, Inc. services customers mainly in the Midwest, but also offers a full range of products and services to customers all across the United States
